Brodeur Reaches 100th Milestone

Martin Brodeur earned his 100th regular season shutout against the Philadelphia Flyers in a 3-0 win Sunday night. The shutout was Brodeur’s second in three games since his return Thursday night, putting him four away from passing Terry Sawchuk’s NHL record of 103. The win also put Brodeur five away from beating Patrick Roy’s NHL mark of 551 wins. Check out this link for more details.

Brodeur Ties Career Win Record

Martin Brodeur tied Patrick Roy’s record of 551 regular-season wins by a goaltender on Saturday night, when the Devils trumped the Canadiens 3-1. Roy himself was in the stands in Montreal to watch the seminal game. Brodeur is enroute to break the NHL record when New Jersey plays the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday. New Jersey Devils superstar Martin Brodeur has eclipsed the record for the most career wins for a goalie in NHL history. Making 30 saves in a 3-2 victory over the Blackhawks on Tuesday night, Brodeur, passed the previously held record of Patrick Roy and won his 552nd regular season game. Having taken the record for most NHL wins by a goaltender, New Jersey Devils’ Martin Brodeur is fast approaching the league shutout record. In Friday night’s game against Minnesota Wild, Brodeur blocked 35 shots for a 4-0 victory, and tally of 101 career shutouts. That puts him just two behind matching Terry Sawchuk’s record of 103.
