Crosby and Datsyuk take home hardware at 2010 NHL Awards

MONTREAL – June 24, 2010 - Reebok Hockey would like to congratulate Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Pavel Datsyuk of the Detroit Red Wings for their outstanding performances in 2009-10 season, which culminated with both going home winners following the 2010 NHL Player Awards held in Las Vegas, NV.

Crosby won his first Maurice Richard Trophy for leading the league with 51 goals this past season, and in another other first, he won the Messier Leadership Award, which goes to the player who most exemplifies great leadership qualities to his team on and off the ice. This season with the Penguins, Crosby finished second in the league with 109 points, became the third-youngest player in NHL history to score 500 points, and he scored the gold medal-winning goal for Canada in Vancouver.

Datsyuk was awarded the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the NHL’s top defensive forward. This season with the Red Wings, he tied for team lead with 70 points (27 goals, 43 assists), led the NHL with 132 takeaways, recorded 33 points over the final 31 games and recorded his 161st career multi-point game.
