Penguins vs Capitals Game 1

The semifinal match-up between the Penguins and Capitals is a feast for fans, watching some of the league's greatest players go head-to-head. Pittsburgh Captain Sidney Crosby, scored in the first period of the first game, but couldn’t hold off Washington’s win of 3-2.

It was a tough defeat for Pittsburgh last night, with Washington edging out the Penguins after a battle of the hat-tricks. Crosby met Ovechkin’s hometown triple-score with one of his own- his first in the playoff season. Pittsburgh lost 4-3 and will have to fight to stay afloat in the series on Wednesday night.

Canucks Lead Blackhawks

Keeping Vancouver one game ahead in the semifinal series against Chicago, goalie Roberto Lunogo helped maintain an early Canuck lead in Tuesday's game. They took the Blackhawks 3-1, and will remain in Chicago for Game 4 on Thursday night.

Datsyuk Gets Fourth Nod

Red Wings’ forward Pavel Datsyuk is a finalist for yet another important NHL commendation, for a tally of 4 major league nominations. This time it’s the Lester B. Pearson Award, given to the most outstanding player in the NHL, as voted by fellow members of the NHL Players Association. He is also in the running for the Hart Memorial Trophy, the Frank J. Selke Trophy and the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy. Check here for more.

With two assists, Crosby helped Pittsburgh win over the Capitals in overtime last night. Winning 3-2 on home ice, the Penguins battled to keep Washington from sweeping the series.

Penguins Lead Capitals

Tying up the Eastern Conference semifinal on Friday night, the Penguins beat the Capitals 5-3. Pittsburgh Captain Sid Crosby had an assist in the first period, and a goal in the 3rd- his 9th in the playoffs. Pittsburgh then took the lead on Saturday night, beating the Capitals 4-3 in overtime. Series stands at 3-2 Penguins.

The Penguins have advanced in the playoffs, beating the Capitals last night 6-2. Captain Sid Crosby scored in the 1st and 3rd period, racking up 12 goals so far in the playoffs. The Penguins will now meet the winner of the Boston/Carolina series, Game 7 of which will be played Thursday night.
