PRINCETON, N.J. – Cincinnati’s Dov Grumet-Morris is the Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Feb. 11-17.
The 6-foot-2 and 198-pound Grumet-Morris was 2-0-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and a .962 save percentage in two games last week to help the Cyclones go 3-0-0 to extend their winning streak to a team record 12 games and stay atop the North Division with 77 points (37-8-3).
The 25 year old made 28 saves in a 3-2 win against Dayton on Feb. 13 before turning aside a season-high 48 shots in a 5-1 win at Elmira on Feb. 16 to improve to 6-0-0 with a goals-against average of 1.79 and a save percentage of .949 in his last six starts.
The Evanston, Ill. native is 18-1-1 in his last 20 games and 20-3-1 overall, tying him for second in the league in wins while ranking seventh in goals-against average with 2.37.
Drafted in the fifth round (161st overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2002 National Hockey League Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Nashville Predators, Grumet-Morris was 11-8-3 with a goals-against average of 2.78 and a save percentage of .909 in 22 games with the Cyclones in 2006-07. He also played in the American Hockey League where he ranked sixth in the league with four shutouts and was 4-7-5 with a goals-against average of 2.30 and a save percentage of .926 in 17 games with Hamilton, Manitoba and Portland.
Prior to turning professional, Grumet-Morris played four seasons at Harvard University where he was 63-40-9 with 11 shutouts, a 2.25 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage in 114 regular season games.
