All-Star Cast Of Rbk Players Heading To Atlanta

Montreal, Quebec, Canada (January 17, 2008) - A host of Rbk players will be heading to Atlanta for the 2008 NHL All-Star festivities to take part in the 56th annual NHL All-Star game on January 27, 2008. For the second consecutive season Pittsburgh Penguins sensation Sidney Crosby was the top vote getter amongst all NHL players receiving 507,274 votes. Crosby, who is playing with the new Rbk 7K Sickick "Gold" stick, is currently tied for the NHL lead in points (63) and is first amongst all NHL players with (41) assists.

Accompanying Crosby on the Eastern Conference starting lineup is New Jersey Devils netminder and Martin Brodeur who will be suiting up for his 10th NHL All-Star game. Brodeur is having another terrific season and sits amongst the league leaders in wins (24), goals against average (2.20), shutouts (4), and save percentage (.920). His outstanding play has helped the Devils climb all the way to second place in the East.

On the Western front, three Rbk players were voted in as starters; Goaltender Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks and defenseman Dion Phaneuf from the Calgary Flames will start for the second consecutive year, while the Detroit Red Wings Pavel Datsyuk will suit up for the first time as a starter. Phaneuf continues to accelerate through his opponents with the new Rbk 9K Pump Skate and has become one of league's most feared defenders. While Phaneuf takes care of his own end first, he is no offensive slouch as he leads all NHL defenseman in shots on net and has registered (31) points through (46) games. In Detroit, Pavel Datsyuk has continued his rapid scoring pace from last season with the Rbk O-Stick as he's notched (55) points through (47) games and sits in third place amongst all NHL players in assists (38) and plus/minus (+27).

In Vancouver, Roberto Luongo's importance to the Canucks success is evident through his impressive numbers as he's currently in the top five in the following statistical categories: wins (21), shutouts (6), goals against average (2.04), and save percentage (.927). Joining Luongo on the Western Conference All-Star team as a reserve is Canucks teammate and Rbk player Henrik Sedin who will make his first NHL All-Star appearance. Sedin has had an outstanding first half of the season, averaging a point-per-game while centering the Canucks top line.

The 56th annual NHL All-Star Game pits the League's best players against one another in an East-versus-West format. The All-Star Game takes place on January 27th at 6PM and will be televised live on VERSUS in the United States and CBC and RDS in Canada. In addition to the All-Star Game there is an NHL SuperSkills competition on January 26th at 7PM which allows the NHL All-Stars to show off their skating, puck-handling and shooting skills.
