Ottawa Senator’s Star Laces Up as Part of the Reebok Hockey Family

November 25, 2008 (MONTREAL, QC) – Reebok Hockey has today added a new NHL player to its outstanding roster of athletic partners. Continuing its tradition of partnering with the brightest stars in the sports world, Ottawa Senator centre Jason Spezza joins the team as a significant part of Reebok Hockey’s marketing strategy, both on and off the ice.

Spezza, a southern-Ontario native, brings to the brand a familiarity with the Canadian market, and a strong base of hometown and home ice support. His partnership with Reebok was announced earlier today at a press conference at the Pro Hockey Life in Kanata.

“Our relationship with Jason Spezza extends beyond a traditional endorsement partnership,” states Len Rhodes, GM of Reebok-CCM hockey. “Not only is Jason an exceptional competitor, but he’s an athlete committed to high quality and innovation in the products he uses, both on and off the ice. As such, we are excited to work with Jason, not only on marketing initiatives, but also on the research, design and development of future Reebok Hockey equipment.”

Today’s announcement aligns Spezza with other world-class NHL stars, including Sidney Crosby, Pavel Dastyuk, Roberto Luongo, and Martin Brodeur.

“I am humbled to be included in such an impressive lineup of stars,” said Spezza. “The Reebok brand has been an incredible success since entering the hockey industry and I am excited about the opportunity to be involved with such an innovative company.”

As an element of this partnership, Spezza will influence both on ice and off ice product lines for Reebok Hockey, including hockey equipment and training apparel.
