All-Star Cast of Reebok Players Head to Montreal

ALL-STAR CAST OF REEBOK PLAYERS HEAD TO MONTREAL

Montreal, Quebec, Canada (January 22, 2009) – The Reebok team will make their mark at the 2009 NHL All-Star festivities for the 57th annual NHL All-Star game. Played in Montreal on January 25, 2009, the game is the main event of the Montreal Canadiens Centennial celebration, and hitting the ice will be superstar and the Pittsburgh Penguin’s Captain Sidney Crosby- primed to hit the All-Star game and events with the new Reebok 10K Stick. An amazing vote count of 1,713,021, places Crosby as the top ballot recipient in the All-Star fan vote, which set the record for the most votes received by a single player in All-Star Game voting history. He currently sits in second place in the NHL scoring race with (60) points.

On opposite ends of the ice, Crosby’s challengers on the Western Conference starting line-up include Anaheim Mighty Ducks netminder Jean-Sébastien Giguère. Suiting up for his first career NHL All-Star game, Giguère helped his team win the Stanley Cup in 2007, recorded his 200th career NHL win on December 7th and played in his 400th game with the Ducks franchise on December 1, 2008.

Joining Giguère on the Western roster are two more Reebok players: Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks will support starter Giguère, and Detroit’s Pavel Datsyuk, who took the Red Wings to a 2008 Stanley Cup Championship.

Luongo, integral to his team’s success, is currently in the league’s fourth place position for shutouts. The Canuck goalie and captain will ward of the pucks and make his All-Star appearance in the P3 Reebok Goalie equipment line.

Perhaps the best two-way forward in the game right now, Pavel Datsyuk, is keeping pace with his phenomenal scoring record from last season. Reebok 10K Stick in hand, he’s notched (56) points through (46) games and sits in fourth place amongst all NHL players in points.

The 57th annual NHL All-Star Game pits East-versus-West in a classic rivalry that sees the League’s best players compete against each other in one electrifying match. The All-Star Game is played on January 25th at 6PM and will be televised live on VERSUS in the United States and CBC Sports and RDS in Canada. The NHL SuperSkills competition, where the NHL All-Stars show off their skating, puck-handling and shooting skills, will take place on January 24th at 7PM.
