Crosby Scores the Golden Goal

17 Feb 2010

Reebok Hockey team member Sidney Crosby had the weight of the Canadian nation on his shoulders last night and came through in flying colors of red, white and gold.

Timing is everything and Sunday night’s OT win was every bit as exciting anyone could have hoped for. Crosby has now become the youngest player to win a Stanley Cup and an Olympic gold - and all that within a nine-month period and at just 22 years of age!

Crosby is a shining example of how hockey should be played, embodying perseverance, class and clutch timing. He was at the top of his game all throughout the Olympic tournament, literally saving his best for last as he scored the "golden goal" at 7:40 into overtime, when it mattered most.

"It's a dream come true," Crosby said. "To have a chance to score in overtime, here in Canada - it doesn't get much better than that."

Congratulations to Reebok team members Sidney Crosby and Roberto Luongo, and the rest of Team Canada on their golden performance; and to Team USA and Team Finland on their medal wins as well.

Crosby's always dreamed of winning the Stanley Cup and Olympic gold... It looks like childhood dreams really are meant to come true.
